Have you seen that ad on telly? The one for, i think, a health benefit fund (clearly doesn't work, arf arf) where an unfit, slightly overweight young woman spies her fitter, slimmer, inevitably (at least in tv land) happier self across a room?
What would you say to a different version of you? Would you even like yourself?
Imagine you're sitting in a coffee shop and someone you half recognise sits down opposite. It is, of course you, but younger or older, or meaner, or kinder.
TASK Begin a dialogue with yourself to explore your differences, beginning with the words "The eyes were the same, but that's where the similarities with this other version of me ended."
