I used this simple exercise at a writing retreat in Bali last month, to help a participant who couldn't get out of her own voice. TASK Imagine you have always been of the opposite sex. Now write on a topic of your choice for 10 minutes. If you need stronger direction to get going, try beginning with the words "The moment I..."
